Optimizer settings

Written by Manuel Sagarra

The optimizer settings allow you to adjust parameters to generate schedules as close as possible to your actual operations. You'll find them under Project settings > Routing > Optimizer. These settings are:

Optimizer options

  • Optimizer priority: Slider to choose whether you want the optimizer to prioritize minimizing distance traveled or time en route.

  • Stop grouping: Slider to get routes with more optimal or more grouped stops.

  • Default stop duration: Set the default time spent at each stop.

  • Maximum waiting time: Maximum waiting period allowed for your vehicles at a stop (up to 3 hours).

  • Maximum distance to combine stops: Maximum distance allowed between stops for the optimizer to group them together.

  • Distribute stops: Toggle to have the stops in a plan distributed among all the vehicles you have added.

Traffic options

  1. Departure time: Allows to take into account the traffic at a given time. If you choose a future date, the optimizer will take into account a history. The result may change if you optimize again.

  2. Vehicle type: Choose the vehicle that you use in your operation.

  3. Things to avoid: You can choose to have your vehicles avoid highways, freeways, tunnels, and more.
