The Swimlane view is a timeline-style layout available in the Planner for all plans. Each row represents a route and each block within that row is a stop, ordered chronologically. It gives operations managers an immediate overview of the entire day's operation and the ability to react in real time — without having to open each route individually.
How to access the Swimlane view
Open any plan in Planner and switch to the Swimlane tab at the top of the plan view. The view loads all routes for that plan automatically.
What you can see at a glance
All routes for the day on a single screen, with real-time progress and status.
Visual indicators for routes with incidents or delays — no need to open the route to spot a problem.
Stop blocks colour-coded by status (pending, completed, cancelled, delayed).
Managing stops and routes
The Swimlane view is not just for monitoring — you can also act directly from it:
Move stops between routes using drag and drop, without leaving the view.
Pin routes to the top of the list to keep frequently monitored routes always in view.
Hide or filter routes by status or label. Hidden routes are also reflected on the map.
Sort routes by label, number of stops, status, or estimated time.
Compact mode
For large operations with many routes, you can enable compact mode to reduce the height of each row and fit more routes on screen at once. This is especially useful on days with high route volume.
Interaction with the map
The Swimlane view and the map panel work together. When you filter or hide routes in the Swimlane, the map updates accordingly — active routes are shown on top, while filtered or hidden routes appear beneath them. The lasso selection on the map also respects the current filter: hidden route stops are not selectable.
When to use the Swimlane view
You are managing multiple routes simultaneously and need a single control panel.
You need to detect delays or incidents early in the day without checking each route.
You need to reassign a stop from one driver to another quickly due to an unexpected change.
You want to prioritise certain routes during a busy period by pinning them to the top.
